Wisdom Teeth Removal Narellan
Don't suffer in silence. Dr Henry Mulla provides gentle wisdom tooth extraction in Narellan with sedation options so you can feel calm, comfortable, and cared for throughout the entire process.
Don't Ignore the Signs
Not everyone needs their wisdom teeth removed — but if you're experiencing any of these signs, it's time to have them assessed.
Pain at the back of your jaw that comes and goes — or doesn't go away at all — is a common sign of impaction or infection.
Red, swollen gums around a partially erupted wisdom tooth can trap bacteria and lead to pericoronitis (gum infection).
When wisdom teeth grow sideways or get stuck beneath the gumline, they can damage neighbouring teeth and cause cysts.
Wisdom teeth pushing against your other teeth can undo years of orthodontic work and cause misalignment.
Repeated bouts of infection around a wisdom tooth is a clear signal it needs to come out before complications escalate.
Stiffness or limited jaw movement, especially when combined with pain, may indicate an impacted or infected wisdom tooth.
Your Journey
No surprises. We walk you through every stage so you feel informed and in control.
We take a full set of digital X-rays (or review any existing scans you bring in) to assess the position, roots, and condition of your wisdom teeth. Dr Henry will explain exactly what he sees and answer every question.
You'll receive a detailed treatment plan with transparent, upfront pricing — including your health fund estimate if applicable. No hidden fees, no pressure. You decide when and how to proceed.
On the day, you choose the level of comfort that works for you — local anaesthetic, happy gas, or oral sedation with Dr Melissa. Many patients tell us they barely felt a thing and wish they hadn't waited so long.
You'll go home with clear aftercare instructions, pain management guidance, and our direct number. We check in on you and you can call us any time if you have concerns during recovery.
Your Comfort Matters
Choose the level of comfort that's right for you. We offer three sedation options so every patient can feel at ease.
The standard option — targeted numbing so you feel no pain during the extraction. You stay fully alert and can drive yourself home afterwards.
Breathe in a gentle mix of nitrous oxide and oxygen through a small nose mask. You'll feel relaxed and calm within minutes, and the effects wear off quickly after treatment.
For patients with higher anxiety, our certified sedationist Dr Melissa Licenblat administers oral sedation on-site. You'll feel deeply relaxed — many patients don't remember the procedure at all. A companion must drive you home.
You can also watch Netflix with noise-cancelling headphones during your procedure — whatever helps you feel at ease.
After Your Extraction
Most patients feel significantly better within 3–5 days. Here's how to support a smooth recovery.
Take it easy for the first two days. Avoid strenuous activity and keep your head elevated when resting to reduce swelling.
Use an ice pack on the outside of your cheek — 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off — to manage swelling during the first 48 hours.
Stick to soft foods like yoghurt, mashed potato, soup, and smoothies for the first few days. Avoid hard, crunchy, or hot foods.
The suction from straws can dislodge the blood clot and cause a painful dry socket. Sip drinks directly from a glass instead.
After 24 hours, gently rinse with warm salt water a few times daily to keep the extraction site clean and promote healing.
Follow the pain management plan we provide. Take medication as directed — staying ahead of the pain makes recovery much more comfortable.
"Putting off seeing a dentist for multiple years with a genuine fear from prior bad experiences… Two days later I had my wisdom tooth removed and I felt as though I was in good hands with Dr Henry and his team."

FAQs
The cost depends on the complexity of the extraction — a simple erupted wisdom tooth costs less than a surgically impacted one. At your consultation, we provide a detailed quote with your health fund estimate so you know the exact out-of-pocket cost before anything begins. We also offer payment plans through Mac Credit.
Yes. We offer three levels of sedation: local anaesthetic (numbing only), happy gas (nitrous oxide for relaxation), and oral sedation administered by our certified sedationist Dr Melissa Licenblat for deeper relaxation. Many patients feel so calm they don't remember the procedure at all.
Most patients feel significantly better within 3–5 days. Swelling typically peaks at 48 hours and then subsides. We provide detailed aftercare instructions including pain management, diet tips, and what to watch for. Full healing of the gum tissue usually takes 2–3 weeks.
Yes, in many cases all four wisdom teeth can be removed in a single visit. Dr Henry will assess your individual situation during the consultation and recommend the approach that works for you. For some patients, removing all four at once means only one recovery period instead of multiple.
We generally recommend taking 2–3 days off work to rest and recover, particularly if you have a physically demanding job. Many patients who work desk jobs return after 1–2 days. If sedation is used, you'll need the rest of the day off and someone to drive you home.
Yes. Dr Henry has extensive experience removing impacted wisdom teeth — including teeth that are partially erupted, growing sideways, or fully embedded beneath the gumline. In complex cases, we may recommend referral to an oral surgeon, but many impacted teeth can be safely managed right here in our Narellan practice.
